Halloween is almost here! If you’ve wanted to do a Halloween-themed craft but keep setting it off, this is your opportunity to make some last-minute decor before the big day. Ready? Go! So, what are some of the spooky ways people go about decorating for Halloween? Let’s dive in!
Expose Your Skeletons
Yes, for one day in a year, your skeletons don’t have to remain in the closet. In fact, you’re encouraged to exhibit them off! This must be the most well-known of all the sinister cliches for this occasion. People not only decorate the roads because of all the little skeletal ones asking for candy, but spooky scary skeletons can also be littered around the house for that frightening effect.
There are even many innovative ways to go about doing so. You can do something as simple as lay them bare on the ground on your front lawn. You can also try to place two of them by your front door side by side; acting as “guards.” If your home has a sloping roof, you may also choose to portray them up there for viewers from afar to see.
If you have a large tree, hanging skeletons off branches like corpses is a surefire way to at least force your guests to think twice. You may even want to cover them in a body bag, a white blanket, or shredded clothes and then pour red paint on them. When it leaks “blood,” it’s mesmerizingly threatening to look at.
Use Pumpkins; A Classic!
Nothing much new about this one. After all, who hasn’t seen a pumpkin displayed during All Hallows’ Eve? It’s a masterpiece! It can actually be fun. In case you’re one of the many people tasked with arranging the office Halloween party, we recommend a pumpkin carving contest! With the right tools, it’s not the hardest thing in the world, and it’s loads of joy to try! It’s also all-natural.
You can even put either candle or LED lights inside the pumpkins to create an ominous effect! Litter them around the house, or even make a walkway path leading to your door full of them in your front yard. This might as well be named the “red carpet” of Halloween.
Another way to take the fright up a notch is to decorate the pumpkin with seasonal flowers in the colors of yellow, black, dark purple, dark red, orange, and even white. These are the colors of Halloween; therefore, they will certainly fit with the dark theme!
Animatronic-Frighteners. It still works!
If you want to step up your fright game, this is the best way to do it! Although it is nothing new, it still works. After all, who doesn’t get a jolt when a scream or laugh is suddenly heard from something they thought was inanimate. It’s even an eco-friendly way to embellish your home because no trash is created by putting this up.
Of Course, There Have to Be Candles!
Nothing screams death and grieving more than laying out candles. Along with blazing the walkway to your door with scary pumpkins or Jack-o-Lanterns, you can also line the walkway with candles. This will improve the gloomy vibe of your place and give trick-or-treaters a sense of fear.
Spiderwebs; Because It’s Scary Even If It’s Not Halloween!
The fear of spiders, also known as arachnophobia, is one of the most common phobias people worldwide have. Thus; it doesn’t even have to be Halloween for it to be scary! Imagine coming to a place where you find significant and dense web strings along with a Halloween skeleton. If you want to add spiders into your webs, for an additional touch of scary, spiders can be made out of felting, fabric, pipe cleaners, painted pots, pipe, bottle caps, and more.
